Jose Holebas relishing Watford challenge

Jose Holebas says that he will be hoping to use his experience to help the Hornets remain in the Premier League this season.

New Watford signing Jose Holebas has stated that he will be looking to use his experience to help the Hornets survive in the Premier League this season.

The 31-year-old has moved to Vicarage Road from Roma for a fee believed to be in the region of £1.8m, signing a three-year deal.

Holebas, who is a Greece international, is confident that his knowledge of playing against English teams in the past will stand him in good stead.

"It is a tough league. I've played twice against Arsenal and also against Manchester City in the Champions League, so big teams in England, and it was really tough, but I feel as though I understand better how they play now." he told Watford's official website.

"I have some experience and there are some young guys here, so I think I can help them with my experience.

"The first thing we need to do is stay in the Premier League next season. That is the main thing."

Watford begin their Premier League campaign away at Everton on August 8.
