West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke has revealed that the club is still in discussions with Jonas Olsson over a new contract.
The Swedish international defender will be a free agent at the end of the season after the Baggies successfully kept hold of him during the summer transfer window.
"The club are still talking to Jonas. The chairman (Jeremy Peace) and Dan Ashworth (sporting and technical director) are in negotiations," Clarke told reporters.
"Jonas respects the fact we are keeping him for the last year of his contract, and we respect the fact he's in the last year of his contract.
"If we can find a solution, that's what we'll do, and that's what we're working to do."
Olsson joined West Brom from Dutch side NEC Nijmegen in 2008 for around £800,000.
