Preview: Wigan Athletic vs. Blackburn Rovers

Sports Mole previews the Lancashire derby between Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers.

Lancashire rivals Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers meet in the Championship on Sunday, with the hosts looking to build on their European success in midweek.

Owen Coyle's Latics ran out 3-1 winners over Maribor at the DW Stadium in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Blackburn could move to within a point of the top six if they win and other results go their way. Gary Bowyer's side have won their last two league matches, the latest coming against Watford on Tuesday evening.

Wigan currently sit 15th in the table, having taken 11 points from eight games.

Coyle could be tempted to hand starts to Nick Powell and Ben Watson after the pair scored against Maribor.

Bowyer could name an unchanged Blackburn XI, with Leon Best and Jordan Rhodes continuing their partnership up front.
