Deadline day key events
Latest January transfer news and rumours including Asensio to Villa
Aston Villa are reportedly considering making a move for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Marco Asensio.
The 28-year-old has made 15 appearances for PSG this season, scoring twice and registering four assists, but his contract in the French capital is due to expire in June 2026, and there is currently speculation surrounding his future.
PSG head coach Luis Enrique has allegedly made Asensio available for transfer this month, and according to FootMercato, Villa are interested in bringing him to the Premier League before the end of the market.
The report claims that Juventus and Real Sociedad are also keen, with a number of clubs likely to be in the mix, should it become clear that the Spaniard is on his way out of the club over the next couple of weeks.
Wage demands 'could end' Chelsea's hopes of signing 24-year-old in January
Chelsea could reportedly struggle to re-sign Marc Guehi during the January transfer window due to the centre-back's wage demands.
Guehi was heavily linked with a move away from Crystal Palace during the summer transfer window, with Newcastle United believed to have had multiple offers turned down for the England international.
The 24-year-old has again been a strong performer this term, making 23 appearances for Palace, scoring twice and registering one assist in the process, but there is currently speculation surrounding his future.
Chelsea are believed to be interested in bringing the defender back to Stamford Bridge this month, but the Blues could allegedly struggle due to Guehi's wage demands.
Real Madrid 'lining up £12.6m move' for high-performing La Liga full-back
Real Madrid are reportedly considering making a move for Rayo Vallecano defender Andrei Ratiu.
The 26-year-old has made 18 appearances for Rayo during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring one goal and registering one assist in the process, while he has featured 34 times in total for his current side since arriving from Huesca in August 2023.
Ratiu has been one of the most consistent right-backs in La Liga this term, and a number of clubs are believed to be keeping a close eye on his progress, with Rayo seemingly facing a difficult task when it comes to keeping hold of him.
According to Fichajes, Real Madrid are huge admirers of Ratiu, viewing him as a player who excels both defensively and offensively, and Los Blancos allegedly believe that he would be an excellent addition to their squad.
Will he stay? Amorim drops transfer hint as Man United star earns start vs. Arsenal
Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has revealed that Amad Diallo is not in the starting XI for Sunday's FA Cup third-round clash against Arsenal due to "a little problem".
Amad, who recently signed a new long-term deal at Old Trafford, has been one of Man United's most productive players this season, scoring six goals and registering seven assists in 28 appearances in all competitions.
The Ivory Coast international was expected to be in the XI for the FA Cup fixture at the Emirates Stadium, but Amorim has revealed that an issue sustained during a training session has seen him left out of the team against the Gunners.
The Man United head coach was also keen to praise Alejandro Garnacho, with the Argentina international the player to benefit.
Fresh twist in Araujo tale as Barcelona 'receive offer' from Juventus
Juventus have reportedly had an opening offer for Barcelona centre-back Ronald Araujo rejected by the Catalan giants.
There is currently a host of speculation surrounding the Uruguay international's future, as his contract is due to expire in June 2026, and it is understood that negotiations over a potential extension are at a standstill.
Barcelona would allegedly be willing to sell Araujo this month for the right price, which has attracted the attention of Juventus, while Arsenal are also believed to be keeping a close eye on the situation.
Manchester United and Bayern Munich are also admirers, although there are no indications at this moment in time that either are planning to make a move for the 25-year-old.
Shock exit on the cards? Napoli 'make contact' over £42m-rated Man United star
Napoli are reportedly ready to make a move for Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho, with the Italian outfit searching for a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The Serie A club's head coach Antonio Conte has revealed that Kvaratskhelia has asked to leave before the end of the January transfer window, and Paris Saint-Germain are the heavy favourites to secure his signature.
Marcus Rashford has since been linked with a move to Naples, but according to Sportitalia, Conte has told senior figures at the club that he wants to bring in Garnacho before the end of the winter market.
The report claims that there has already been 'open contact' with Man United, as the Italian side look to complete what would be a sensational move for the Argentina international in the middle of the campaign.
Rashford future: Could Barcelona make shock move for Man United forward?
Barcelona are reportedly considering making a move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford before the end of the January transfer window.
The 27-year-old is set to leave Man United this month, most likely on loan, with AC Milan, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Napoli among the clubs believed to be interested in his services.
Rashford is allegedly desperate to make the move to Spain; Real Madrid are not an option, while it had been thought that Barcelona's financial problems would also rule them out of the race.
However, according to Relevo, the Catalan giants are keeping a close eye on Rashford's situation at Old Trafford, and a move for the forward could be made before the January transfer window closes for business.
Lewandowski replacement: Barcelona 'determined to land' goalscoring machine
Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Newcastle United's Alexander Isak, viewing the Sweden international as the ideal long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
The Catalan giants are planning to move for a new number nine this summer; Jonathan David had allegedly been a major target, but the La Liga outfit appear to have now cooled their interest in the Lille forward.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Isak is viewed as the club's leading target, with the 25-year-old developing into one of the best forwards in European football during his time at St James' Park.
Isak has scored 15 goals and registered four assists in 22 appearances for the Magpies this season, while his overall record for his Premier League club stands at 50 goals and nine assists in 89 appearances.
Man United to miss the boat? Red Devils 'suffer major blow' in pursuit of 'top January target'
Manchester United have reportedly suffered a major blow in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain's Randal Kolo Muani, with Aston Villa potentially emerging as the favourites for the France international.
PSG are believed to be determined to land Jhon Duran from Villa, with a transfer potentially taking place before the end of the January transfer window, which could see Kolo Muani move in the opposite direction.
According to the Daily Mail, PSG are confident that they can convince Villa to let Duran leave, but Villa are likely to insist that Kolo Muani is included in the switch, which could see Man United miss out on the Frenchman.
The report claims that Villa value Duran in the region of £80m, with the 21-year-old in excellent form this season, scoring 12 goals in 26 appearances, including seven goals in 18 outings in England's top flight.
Matic back in the Prem? Latest transfer news and rumours today!
Former Manchester United and Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic could reportedly be offered a route back to the Premier League by newly-promoted Ipswich Town.
The Tractor Boys are currently on course to head straight back down to the Championship as they occupy 18th place in the top-flight rankings, albeit only adrift of 17th-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers on goal difference.
Kieran McKenna reinforced the Ipswich midfield over the summer with the captures of Kalvin Phillips and Jens Cajuste on loan from Manchester City and Napoli respectively, but according to Sky Deutschland, the East Anglia outfit are now eyeing a shock move for Matic.
The 36-year-old left England in 2022 following the expiry of his contract with the Red Devils, since when he has represented Roma, Rennes and most recently Lyon.
Dortmund, Napoli 'serious contenders' for unsettled Man United star
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly making 'a concerted effort' to acquire Marcus Rashford, while Napoli are said to have emerged as genuine contenders to sign the Manchester United attacker before the end of the January transfer window.
AC Milan continue to be viewed as the favourites for the Englishman, who has seemingly been left out of the Man United squad for Sunday's FA Cup third-round fixture with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Dortmund have stepped up their interest, with the Bundesliga giants determined to win the race for his signature.
The report claims that BVB's strong relationship with Man United has placed them in a good position, with the deal potentially similar to the one that took Jadon Sancho back to the club on loan for the second half of last season.
