Hull Kingston Rovers snatched a narrow win over fellow Super League strugglers Salford Red Devils thanks to Albert Kelly's late try this evening.
The home side took the lead on 14 minutes when Kelly teed up Ben Cockayne, who touched down in the corner, though Josh Mantellato was off target with the conversion attempt.
Salford went ahead themselves just five minutes later when Cory Paterson offloaded to Mason Caton-Brown who went over, with Josh Griffin converting.
The visitors extended their lead when Michael Dobson's clever pass picked out Ben Jones-Bishop on the right wing, and the former Leeds Rhinos man touched down.
However, Hull closed the gap shortly before the break when Kieran Dixon, who had twice knocked on when his side were deep in Salford territory and was stripped of the ball in the build-up to Caton-Brown's try, made up for his previous errors with a score in the right corner.
New Rovers recruit Dane Tilse grabbed a try of his own five minutes after the restart, and Kris Welham and Maurice Blair then increased Salford's misery with another two scores in the following five minutes to seemingly put the game beyond the visitors.
That was until Jordan Walne pulled one back to bring the Red Devils to within 10 points, before former Hull man Scott Taylor touched down to reduce the deficit to just four, after Griffin's conversion.
Mantellato's penalty on 70 minutes appeared to give the hosts a bit of breathing room, but Jones-Bishop then popped up to grab his second try of the night, and Griffin held his nerve to level the tie.
However, having dragged themselves level, Salford inexplicably switched off at kickoff and allowed Albert to sneak in and rescue the win for Hull in the dying minutes.
