Strong finish not enough for Leicester Tigers

Bath hold on for a 27-20 win over Leicester Tigers, despite the visiting side scoring three tries in the second half.

A strong second-half performance was not enough for Leicester Tigers to secure a win over Bath in the Aviva Premiership.

The home side dominated the opening 40 minutes, as Jonathan Joseph and Matthew Banahan both found the try line to leave Bath with an 18-point lead at the break.

Leicester were briefly down the 13 men in the first half after Logovi'i Mulipola and Tom Youngs were shown yellow cards.

Steve Mafi started the comeback for Tigers with a try at the start of the second half, with Ed Slater following 13 minutes later.

A late effort from Vereniki Goneva brought Leicester within four points of the home side, but George Ford kicked a late penalty to ensure that they held on for the victory.
