Jonny Wilkinson: "There is still work to be done"

Former England international Jonny Wilkinson tells the current side that there is still 'work to do' ahead of the World Cup.

Jonny Wilkinson has praised England for their performance in the 21-13 win over Ireland at Twickenham this afternoon, but has insisted that more work is needed ahead of the World Cup.

Tries from wingers Jonny May and Anthony Watson put Stuart Lancaster's side ahead early on, but Ireland were far from at their best.

"The way England have won it is big. More and more players are putting their hands up and showing that they can perform. England have come and played a good game plan and tactically they have got it right," the former England captain told Sky Sports News.

"The issue for me is that they have played against a team that were sub-par today and at half-time this game should have been done.

"There is still work to be done and I think England need that ruthless nature; that killer instinct that says 'right, if you are not here for this challenge then we will move on without you.'"

England begin their World Cup campaign when they face Fiji on Friday, September 18.
