Gloucester Rugby scrum-half Jimmy Cowan has been ruled out for the rest of the season with ligament damage to his knee.
The 30-year-old suffered the injury in Saturday's win over Northampton Saints, with the club's director of rugby Nigel Davies revealing that he will be out for six months.
"He's very positive and just wants to play. He'll do whatever he can to get back sooner than that," Davies told BBC Sport.
Cowan joined Gloucester from Super 15 side Highlanders.
