Kei Nishikori is confident that he will hold his own on his ATP Tour Finals debut over the next week.
The US Open runner-up has been drawn in Group B alongside Andy Murray, Roger Federer and Milos Raonic for the season-ending event at the O2 Arena in London.
Home favourite Murray is the Japanese's first opponent on Sunday, but Nishikori is confident that he can compete with Britain's number one and the rest of the stellar cast after enjoying the best season of his career.
"He's beaten me already three times and he's one of the toughest players on the Tour," Nishikori told reporters. "And especially he's from here and he's got the home crowd so it's not going to be easy for me.
"But this is a little bit of a different situation because I've been playing one of the best years of my career and beating top-10, top-five guys already.
"I don't think it's like I can't beat him so, if I can play good tennis, I think I will have some chance to win."
World number five Nishikori won ATP events in Memphis, Barcelona, Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo in 2014.
