Caroline Wozniacki is through to the third round of the BNP Paribas Open after beating Alize Cornet in three sets.

Caroline Wozniacki has reached the third round of the BNP Paribas Open after beating Alize Cornet in three sets at Indian Wells.

The Dane started the match well taking the first set 6-4 breaking her opponent three times while losing her own serve twice.

Cornet responded in the second set with some hard hitting shots winning it 6-3.

In the deciding set, Wozniacki overwhelmed the 23-year-old securing the set 6-3 securing the match.

Wozniacki will face Elena Vesnina in the third round of the tournament.
