Roger Federer has advanced into the next round of the Rome Open after a 6-3 6-4 win over Carlos Berlocq.
Federer dealt with the swirling wind inside the stadium to claim a number of points at the net.
He secured a 24-13 edge in winners against his first-time opponent.
The Rome Open is just one of three Masters events that the Swiss has never claimed.
Federer will face Juan Carlos Ferrero in the next round.
