Kyle Edmund thrashes Tatsuma Ito for first challenger win

British number three Kyle Edmund wins his first challenger tournament by thrashing Tatsuma Ito in Hong Kong.

Kyle Edmund produced one of the performances of his young career to win his first challenger title in Hong Kong.

The British number three, who recently qualified for the Australian Open, had been expected to face a tough test against world number 89 Tatsuma Ito.

However, the 20-year-old made light work of the Japanese player, racing to a 6-1 6-2 victory inside 55 minutes.

The success will see Edmund move towards the top 150 of the ATP world rankings when they are updated on Monday.
