Laura Robson claims first tournament win since 2008

Former British number one Laura Robson wins her first tournament since 2008 with victory at a second-tier event in Landisville.

Laura Robson has recorded her first tournament triumph in eight years after beating Julia Elbaba in the final of a second-tier event in Landisville.

The 22-year-old spent 17 months on the sidelines with a wrist injury and has struggled for form since making a return to the sport.

However, the former British number one received a huge boost on Sunday as she double-bageled American wildcard Elbaba to claim victory at the Koser Jewelers $25,000 Tennis Challenge.

Robson - who had last won an event in Sunderland in 2008 - will move up to 225th place in the WTA Race.
