Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca suggests that the Blues remain open to bringing new players to Stamford Bridge before the end of the January transfer window.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has acknowledged that the Blues are 'paying attention' to any opportunities that may materialise during the January transfer market.

Despite widespread speculation regarding potential signings, Chelsea's solitary piece of business since the turn of the year is recalling Trevoh Chalobah from his loan stint at Crystal Palace.

The likes of Renato Veiga and Cesare Casadei are expected to depart in due course, both players eager to secure regular football after playing backup roles since the middle of August.

Although Chelsea have been linked with a potential replacement for the latter, Maresca has suggested that acquiring a new midfielder is not on his radar.

Nevertheless, when addressing speculation regarding alleged interest in Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, Maresca remained coy over the situation.

"I'm happy with what we have"

Chelsea are reportedly contemplating whether to pay in the region of £50m to sign the Argentina international, who has not been a regular starter at Old Trafford since the arrival of Ruben Amorim.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Maresca has insisted that he remains happy with the current wide options that he has at his disposal.

The Italian said: "I'm happy with what we have in this moment. On the right side it is Pedro [Neto] and Noni [Madueke], on the left we have Jadon [Sancho].

"We had Misha [Mudryk] but he is not with us. Tyrique [George] is an option."

Maresca has handed regular game time to each of Neto, Madueke and Sancho throughout the campaign, but 18-year-old George was only provided with his Premier League debut earlier this week.

Cole Palmer, Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix can also be used out wide, yet Maresca has acknowledged in the past that he prefers to use the trio in central areas.

Incomings remain a possibility?

However, when Maresca was quizzed on potential incomings later in the press conference, he admitted that options were being considered.

He added: ""With club, with sporting director, we pay attention if something can happen. But at the moment, as you say, 10 days to go and we didn't do nothing, just call back Trev.

"We will see in the next 10 days if something is going to happen."

Saturday's Premier League fixture at Manchester City is Chelsea's last until February 3, ensuring that they can continue to remain patient with assessing the market before deadline day on the same date.
