AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley has hinted that he would like to extend the loan of Charlton Athletic forward Michael Smith until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old joined the League Two club during the summer on a loan deal until January.
Ardley told the Hounslow Chronicle: "We're really pleased with Smudger and will speak to Charlton to see what they have planned for him.
"It's not up to just us. It's down to three parties - Charlton, the player and Wimbledon - it's not something that happens at the drop of a hat. We are trying to develop him and hopefully Charlton are happy with his progress."
Smith has scored seven goals in 17 appearances for Wimbledon this season.
