Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld has revealed that a summer move to Liverpool could be on the cards.
The Merseyside outfit has recently been linked with a swoop for the 24-year-old as a replacement for the soon-to-be-retired Jamie Carragher.
Alderweireld has admitted that while a switch to the Reds is an option, he has ruled out a possible transfer to Newcastle United.
"I do not want to play in an English club in mid-table," Goal.com quotes Alderweireld as saying. "Unlike Newcastle, Liverpool meets my criteria."
The defender, who has netted three goals for Ajax this season, is due to come to the end of his contract in 2014.
