Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud believes that side beat Marseille on Wednesday due to being the better side when it came to "little details".
The Gunners got their Champions League campaign off to the perfect start by securing a 2-1 win over Les Phoceens at the Stade Velodrome in Group F.
"We were efficient even if we were not always on top," Giroud told Canal Plus.
"We made the difference on little details. That's how it works in the European Cup. It's tough for them but we've got three points, we're happy."
Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey put Arsenal ahead before Jordan Ayew pulled one back from the penalty spot late on.
