Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has admitted that he would feel more confident playing without his protective helmet, but he has accepted that he has to wear it.
The 33-year-old has worn the scrum cap since suffering a fractured skull while playing for Chelsea against Reading in 2006 and spending three months on the sidelines.
Cech has claimed that wearing the cap has had an adverse affect on his performances.
"I would be more confident if I had it off," he told Tyden.
"Whether you like it or not, the helmet affects your surroundings. You have your ears covered and it makes hearing worse. But the doctor has forbidden me to take off the helmet. If I did, I would not get insurance."
Cech joined Arsenal this summer after spending 11 years at Chelsea.
