Lukasz Fabianski: 'I'm over Arsenal frustration'

Lukasz Fabianski says that he is over his mixed Arsenal spell after putting in a man-of-the-match performance against his former club recently.

Swansea City goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has insisted that he harbours no animosity toward Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger over the manner of his exit last summer.

The Pole left the Gunners on a Bosman after spending much of his seven-year spell behind compatriot Wojciech Szczesny in North London.

Fabianski produced a man-of-the-match performance on his return to the Emirates in Monday's 1-0 win over Arsenal, but stresses that his heroics were not linked with a desire to prove a point.

"I am past that frustration time," he told The Express. "It has been a long time since I left Arsenal. I am just happy with my position at the moment at Swansea, I am balanced.

"I spent seven years at Arsenal and I still have loads of friends there, so to play against them was strange.

"Sometimes it felt like a training game. I don't know if I had a point to prove to anyone. I am very happy with my decision. I am really proud with the performance of the team. Maybe they felt as well that it was a special game for me and wanted to help me. They did brilliantly defensively."

The 30-year-old has made 35 league appearances this season, having made just five in his final three years in the capital.
