Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted that his side will continue to play an attacking style of football despite their excellent defensive performance against Manchester City.
The Gunners thwarted Manuel Pellegrini's team at the Etihad Stadium with a resolute performance not usually seen from Wenger's side, as they claimed an important 2-0 victory.
"I go from too romantic to too pragmatic," Wenger told reporters. "We are not going to change our style. Of course we want to be defensively strong, but we want to play.
"We knew that it was important for us to be a bit more cautious. We wanted to be a bit more reassured.
"Last year we conceded many goals in big games, so maybe we were a bit more focused on defending well together, but it is not the basics or philosophy of our game, that will always remain."
Arsenal face Brighton & Hove Albion in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday.
