Arsenal are reportedly ready to reignite their interest in Borussia Dortmund playmaker Julian Brandt.
The Gunners were linked with a swoop for the playmaker in January before signing Martin Odegaard on loan, but Mikel Arteta has a fight on his hands as he aims to keep the Real Madrid man on the books next season.
Odegaard has made a positive impression during his time at the club, but Arsenal may reportedly be forced to search for creative inspiration elsewhere given the extortionate fee that he would command.
According to Bild journalist Christian Falk, Odegaard will prove too expensive for Arsenal to sign this summer, so Arteta has identified Brandt as a cut-price alternative to the Norway captain.
Falk adds that Dortmund could be willing to sell Brandt for a relatively modest figure of £21m, with the former Bayer Leverkusen man struggling for consistent game time at the Westfalenstadion.
Brandt has made 28 Bundesliga appearances this term, but he boasts just two goals and two assists and has only started 16 of those matches.
The Germany international has a contract with the Black and Yellow until the end of the 2023-24 season.
