Schalke 04 have moved to play down reports linking Klaas-Jan Huntelaar with a move to Arsenal.
The club's general manager Horst Heldt has insisted that the Gunners have not made an approach for the Dutch international, calling rumours to the contrary "nonsense".
He told Sky Sports News: "It's pure speculation. Either Arsenal make us an offer, otherwise it's a load of nonsense."
Huntelaar's contract with Schalke expires at the end of the season, with Arsenal's Premier League rivals Liverpool also reportedly interested in the striker.
Meanwhile, Schalke maintained their position at the top of Group D of the Champions League with a 1-0 victory over Olympiakos on Wednesday.
