Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits that he is keen to resolve the future of Jack Wilshere - who has less than a year left on his contract - by the end of December.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reiterated that he wants to resolve the future of Jack Wilshere by the end of December.

Wilshere has just eight months remaining on his contract at the Emirates Stadium, and with the England international still rarely being used in the Premier League, a new deal does not appear to be a certainty.

Wenger has previously revealed that he is happy with the 25-year-old's fitness and the long-serving manager remains hopeful of a resolution with Wilshere - and Mesut Ozil, who is in a similar position - before the start of the January transfer window.

The Frenchman is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "Ideally you want to keep both of them. I said many times that would be decided in December."

Despite featuring for just 13 minutes in the Premier League, Wilshere has started four games in the EFL Cup and Europa League.
