Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has praised his side's performance during the 1-1 draw with Leicester City at Villa Park this evening.
The Villans backed up their 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace in midweek with a point against the high-flying Foxes after Rudy Gestede cancelled out Shinji Okazaki's first-half opener.
Garde's side remain nine points from safety in the Premier League, but the Frenchman does not believe that the gap between themselves and league leaders Leicester was evident on the pitch today.
"In the first half we were not the same level as Tuesday against Crystal Palace, but the second half was much better," he told Sky Sports News.
"We had a good reaction. We were behind the leader and when you come back to draw it is very positive for the bottom team. We were more aggressive, more positive and more attacking as well.
"If you look at the level of the game between the teams there was not the huge gap you can see on the table."
Villa will look to go three league games without defeat for the first time since December 2014 when they take on Midlands rivals West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
