Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has said his side's performance in the defeat to Manchester United was "not what I was looking for".
The West Midlands outfit were beaten thanks to a solitary goal from Adnan Januzaj at Villa Park as United made it two wins from two games.
However, while Sherwood is backing his team to get better, he also demanded improvements from his attacking players.
He told Sky Sports: "I am disappointed with the result, I thought we nullified them, but it is to be expected, we have a lot of players out there trying to find their feet in English football. We will improve.
"It is hard to judge us against Manchester United, but it was not what I was looking for. We could be a bit more potent in the final third."
Villa travel to Crystal Palace in the Premier League next Saturday.
