Dwight Yorke 'can't see' Roy Keane, Paul Lambert Aston Villa partnership working

Dwight Yorke 'can't see' the partnership with Roy Keane and Paul Lambert working at Aston Villa.

Dwight Yorke believes that his former Manchester United teammate Roy Keane will struggle to take a backseat to Paul Lambert when he takes on his assistant role at Aston Villa.

The Premier League club confirmed the appointment of the Irishman as Lambert's number two for next season.

However, Dwight believes that Keane is a "leader" and could fail to step back into an assistant's role after having stints as manager at Sunderland and Ipswich Town.

"To go to Villa under Paul Lambert, do I see that working? To be totally honest I can't, knowing Roy Keane as a person," Yorke told the Irish Examiner. "Unless it is a changed Roy Keane, which I can't see."

Keane will combine his role with his position as Martin O'Neill's number two with the Republic of Ireland national team.
