Midfielder Jordan Veretout will have an Aston Villa medical later today, according to reports.
The Nantes man could become the third player to join the club this week, following Jordan Ayew and Jose Angel Crespo.
Sky Sports News claims that an agreement has been reached between the two clubs and that a deal is expected to progress quickly for the 22-year-old.
The Frenchman could be joined by strikers Rudy Gestede and Emmanuel Adebayor, who are also close to a move to Villa Park.
Veretout scored seven times in 37 games last season.
