Rudy Gestede to undergo Aston Villa medical?

Rudy Gestede will undergo a medical at Aston Villa before joining in a deal worth around £6m, according to reports.

Blackburn Rovers striker Rudy Gestede will reportedly undergo a medical at Aston Villa on Friday afternoon.

The Benin international enjoyed an impressive campaign at Championship level last term, scoring 20 goals for Rovers to see his name linked with an array of top-flight sides.

Villa were among those said to be interested, and according to Sky Sports News the 26-year-old will join the Villans at the weekend should he pass a medical.

It is suggested that a fee of £6m has been agreed between the two clubs for Gestede, who joined Rovers permanently from Cardiff City for a minimal fee in 2014.
