Diego Simeone: 'We take each game as it comes'

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone refuses to look too far ahead despite an impressive start to the season.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has claimed that their recent success is down to taking each game as it comes, rather than looking too far ahead.

The capital outfit won the Copa del Rey last season, while they currently sit level on points and goal difference with Barcelona at the top of La Liga and have advanced into the latter stages of the Champions League.

"Our obligation is to go game by game. We are looking only at the present," Simeone told AS.

"We know that the path is complicated and that at any moment it can become difficult. We live each match as if it was our last, that is the secret."

Atletico have been drawn against AC Milan in the last-16 stage of the Champions League.
