Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu expects coach Pep Guardiola to extend his stay with the club.

Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu is confident that Pep Guardiola will extend his stay with the club.

The Spanish coach has always refused to sign long-term deals, choosing instead to put pen to paper on a rolling contract.

That has led to speculation linking him with the managerial jobs at a number of clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United and Inter Milan.

However, Bartomeu believes that Guardiola has no intention of leaving his post just yet.

"We want him to stay here for many more years," he told Sport. "He is the best coach in the world and he has not stopped making history since he arrived.

"Personally, I think that Guardiola's story with Barca is not yet over."

Guardiola took over at the Nou Camp in 2008.
