David Beckham has reportedly made Lionel Messi his long-term target to front his soon-to-be-launched MLS franchise Miami United.
The former Manchester United and England midfielder is hopeful that the project will be ready for competition for the start of the 2017 campaign.
In a bid to boost interest, it is believed that Beckham is eager to secure the services of the sport's biggest names.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one option, but Barcelona star Messi is the Englishman's dream addition, according to the Daily Mail.
At the age of 28 it is not thought that Messi is in a hurry to leave Camp Nou, but the report adds that Beckham is prepared to bide his time in order to land the Argentine.
