Spanish midfielder Andres Iniesta has reportedly turned down Barcelona's first offer to extend his current contract.
The 29-year-old, who made his first-team debut for the Catalan outfit in 2002, sees his current deal expire in June 2015.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Spanish champions are no closer to agreeing terms with the playmaker, who has been linked with both Manchester United and Manchester City.
The current situation has been described as "distant" in various publications in Spain, but it is believed that Barcelona are hopeful of confirming the agreement before the end of the year.
