Luis Suarez: 'Barcelona desperate for Neymar stay'

Barcelona forward Luis Suarez still hopes that Neymar will stay with the Spanish giants this summer amid strong interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcelona forward Luis Suarez is still hopeful that Neymar will stay with the Spanish giants this summer.

Neymar has scored three times in two pre-season friendlies during the club's pre-season tour of North America, first netting a brace against Juventus last weekend, before scoring the only goal of the match against Manchester United on Wednesday night.

The former Santos youngster continues to be linked with a world-record move to Paris Saint-Germain, however, and it has recently been claimed that the Brazilian has agreed a five-year contract with the French giants.

Suarez and Neymar have played together at Barcelona since 2014, and the former said that "it will be a pity" if the 25-year-old decides to seek pastures new in this summer's transfer window.

"It will be a pity if he leaves Barcelona," Suarez told reporters. "If he leaves, it will not change our affection for him. We all want him to stay. He is one of the best three players in the world and we need to enjoy him."

Barcelona, who could move for Liverpool attacker Philippe Coutinho if Neymar departs, will continue their preparations for the new campaign with a clash against Real Madrid on Saturday night.
