Pep Guardiola hints at Gonzalo Castro interest

Pep Guardiola refuses to dismiss speculation that has linked Bayern Munich with a move for Gonzalo Castro.

Bayern Munich head coach Pep Guardiola has admitted that he is an admirer of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Gonzalo Castro.

Speculation of late has suggested that the Bavarians are preparing to make a summer move for the 27-year-old, who has spent his entire career with Leverkusen.

When asked about those reports, Guardiola refused to rule out the notion.

"I am not thinking about next season yet and about which players will be here then. We have not spoken about it for now," he told reporters.

"But Castro is obviously a great player. He has been doing very well in a number of positions."

Castro's contract at the BayArena is due to expire in 2016.
