Bayern Munich and Spain midfielder Javi Martinez has admitted that he cannot "relax" as he attempts to book his spot in the La Roja squad for the World Cup next summer.
The 25-year-old has 14 Spanish caps to his name and is widely expected to play a key role for the World and European champions in Brazil.
However, the defensive midfielder, who has suffered with injury in the early part of the season, has insisted that he is not resting on his laurels.
"Spain count on great players, all of them going through a great moment and you can't relax," he told AS.
"You know that someone else is looking for their chance. Footballers always play to win titles whether they've already won one or not. In my case I always want more."
Martinez is currently on the sidelines with a shoulder injury.
