Belarus go into the half-time interval with a 1-0 lead over New Zealand in their Group C match this evening.

Belarus lead New Zealand 1-0 going into half-time of their Group C match at the City of Coventry Stadium this evening.

New Zealand looked the better team in the opening stages, with Chris Wood testing Aleksandr Gutor a couple of times in the first 20 minutes.

Artem Solovei looked to respond for Belarus, and had perhaps the best chance of the half as he made his way into the New Zealand box, only to send his effort wide of Tim Payne's goal.

Belarus pushed on for an opener, peppering the New Zealand goal with shots towards the end of the half without really troubling Payne.

However, the Europeans did find the breakthrough right on the stroke of half-time when Dmitry Baga finally made his side's pressure pay off by slotting the ball home.

Elsewhere in Group C, Brazil are currently leading Egypt 3-0 at half-time.
