Scotland striker Jordan Rhodes has insisted that he is "very happy to be part of the squad" despite not starting the last two games for his country.
The 22-year-old, who joined Blackburn Rovers from Huddersfield Town in the summer, also revealed that he did not expect to play for his country so soon.
"I'm just very happy to be part of the squad. Eighteen months ago I never had any international recognition at any stage," he told reporters.
"To think back to then and fast forward 18 months and for you guys to be sticking microphones in my face asking these questions all seems a little bit surreal. I'm just happy to be here and I'm enjoying every minute."
Rhodes has scored one goal in four games for his country.
