Blackburn Rovers ease past Blackpool

Blackburn Rovers ease past Blackpool 2-0 in the Championship, thanks to goals from Grant Hanley and David Dunn.

Blackburn Rovers have eased past Lancashire rivals Blackpool 2-0 at Ewood Park in the Championship.

Goals from David Dunn and Grant Hanley were enough for Gary Bowyer's Rovers as the visitors' miserable away form continued.

Dunn gave the home side the lead on 20 minutes when his left-footed effort found the bottom corner.

Rovers went close when Jordan Rhodes was headed in mistakenly by Kirk Broadfoot, but he couldn't apply the finishing touch.

Rhodes had an earlier effort when he turned on the edge of the box, but the shot went just over the bar.

Rudy Gestede nearly added the second for Rovers, but his header went just over the bar.

With seven minutes of normal time remaining, Hanley doubled the advantage when he headed home from a corner to crush Blackpool's hopes of a revival.
