Baniyas deputy chairman Mubarak Awad has revealed that midfielder Amer Abdulrahman will join Blackburn Rovers on a one-year loan deal.
Abdulrahman starred for the UAE at last year's Olympic Games in London, and Awad has granted the 24-year-old permission to spend the season in England.
Awad told Sport360: "Blackburn were in touch, they sent a letter. He is not for sale but we will send him out on loan.
"He will go next week and train with them, and after that stay for the season. We are hoping that he will come back at the end of the season with more experience to help in the future."
Blackburn have yet to comment on the possible deal.
