Sean Dyche: 'We deserved more'

Burnley boss Sean Dyche feels that his side should have taken all three points from their Premier League clash with Sunderland at Turf Moor.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche believes that his side deserved more than a point in their goalless draw with Sunderland at Turf Moor.

The Clarets had several good chances throughout the game and went close late on through Ashley Barnes as his deflected shot cannoned off the crossbar.

However, Dyche is pleased that his side picked up another point in the league and are showing improvement.

He told BBC Sport: "It was another thorough performance and we thought it should have brought more than just a point. On the other hand it's a strong clean sheet. It was a good performance in all areas.

"There were a number of chances - a penalty call that anywhere else on the pitch was a foul - and sometimes you just need things to go your way.

"There's goals in the team, I'm convinced of that. It's a bit early for talk of staying in the Premier League. We're a work in progress - we know we have to score goals but you also have to keep clean sheets."

Burnley are 17th in the Premier League after five matches this season.
