Harry Redknapp has described missing out on signing Gary Hooper as a "huge setback" for Queens Park Rangers.
The Loftus Road side had an offer accepted for the Celtic striker earlier this week but could not agree personal terms with the 25-year-old, who is now believed to have completed a medical with Norwich City.
The QPR manager told The Telegraph: "It's very disappointing because I felt there was a deal to be done there but maybe this is a lesson learnt for us.
"You have to get transfers like this done quickly. If you take your time you are always open to the risk of somebody else coming in and that seems to be what's happened with Gary Hooper.
"It's definitely a huge setback for us because I thought he would have been a fantastic signing for us."
Hooper scored 19 goals in the Scottish Premier League last season.
