Charlton Athletic have begun talks with defender Dorian Dervite over a new long-term contract with the Championship club.
The 25-year-old Frenchman is due to be a free agent in the summer after joining the Addicks in 2012.
"I talked last week with the chairman so hopefully I will be more than happy to stay here," Dervite told the South London Press. "I have to see a few things and then hopefully I can sign a long-term contract here.
"I am the kind of player that when I know I have got the trust of the manager then I give even more and I have always been like that since I was young and that is going well. I am happy for myself and the team."
Dervite, whose previous clubs include Tottenham Hotspur and Villarreal, has scored two goals in 37 games for Charlton this season.
