Having developed into one of Europe's deadliest strikers at Atletico Madrid, Diego Costa made the move to Chelsea in 2014 and instantly became a fan favourite for his robust style and goalscoring exploits.
The Brazilian-born Spain international made a blistering start to life at Stamford Bridge with a Premier League-record seven goals from his first four games in the division, and he ended the campaign with 20 league goals to his name as Chelsea clinched the title.
The Blues had won the League Cup earlier in the campaign too, but Costa's second season in England was less successful as the defending champions only managed a mid-table finish, with Costa scoring just 12 goals.
The striker was back to his best during the 2016-17 season, though, again hitting 20 Premier League goals to fire Chelsea to another title and taking his tally to 52 league strikes in 89 outings at the time of writing.
