Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud insists that now is not the time to panic as Chelsea prepare for a season-defining week.

Olivier Giroud has urged his Chelsea teammates to 'stick together and be positive' as they aim to prevent their season from completely unravelling.

The Blues have slipped out of the Premier League's top four in recent weeks and questions have been asked of manager Maurizio Sarri's future at Stamford Bridge.

Sarri is under scrutiny following the 6-0 loss to Manchester City eight days ago, following on from successive away defeats to Arsenal and Bournemouth.

Chelsea now face a huge week as they play Manchester United on Monday for a place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, welcome Malmo to Stamford Bridge on Thursday in the second leg of their Europa League last-32 tie and then take on Man City in the EFL Cup final on Sunday.

Giroud insists that now is not the time to panic, telling reporters: "I have always had to deal with pressure all throughout my career. I played big games with my clubs, the national team, and in these kinds of moments you need to stick together and think collectively with togetherness and be positive.

"We are not in the best position, but we have big games to come. We want to qualify in every single competition, so United is going to be a massive game. We need momentum and to keep going that way, so we are looking forward to it. We are not worried about the situation and I am sure Man United will drop points [in the league].

"We are confident and we want to carry on with a good spirit and humility. I think and I believe that it is the case that there's criticism of the coach, but I haven't felt anything about them dropping the coach,. I don't have much to say about that.

"We stick altogether, the staff and the team. We want to look forward and be positive. That's it. We will work on the same path and the same targets."

Giroud scored what proved to be the winning goal for Chelsea in their 2-1 first-leg victory against Malmo last time out.
