Juan Mata insists that Chelsea are targeting success in the Premier League and Champions League this season.

Spanish midfielder Juan Mata has targeted more trophies during his second season as a Chelsea player.

The 24-year-old impressed many during his first year at Stamford Bridge as the Blues were crowned Champions League and FA Cup winners.

However, Mata is focused on building on a promising start in English football by playing a more pivotal role in Chelsea's upcoming campaign.

Mata told Chelsea TV:"I think it will be a good season for us.

"Personally, I will try to play more games than last season. For sure, our desire is to win another trophy, either the Premier League or Champions League.

"These competitions are very important for us and we will try to do our best."

The former Valencia attacker continued the success of last season by scoring in Spain's Euro 2012 final victory over Italy.
