Nathaniel Chalobah ends loan spell with Burnley

Midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah returns to Chelsea after it was decided to end his loan spell at Burnley.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has revealed that midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah has returned to parent club Chelsea.

The England Under-21 international had been due to remain at Turf Moor until May but after the 20-year-old made just one Premier League start during the first half of the season, his loan spell in the North-West has been cut short.

The 43-year-old told the club's official website: "Nathaniel will go back to Chelsea and we thank him for his efforts in his time with us.

"We hope that he has developed here, albeit not on the pitch as much as he would have liked. He has, however, been an active part of the group and has been a credit to himself.

"We wish Nathaniel well as he looks to further progress his career."

Chelsea are likely to allow Chalobah to join a new club for the remainder of the campaign.
