Chelsea place a £45m price tag on defender David Luiz to ward off interest from Barcelona, according to a report.

Chelsea have reportedly placed a £45m valuation on defender David Luiz to fend off interest from Barcelona.

The Brazilian international has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, with the Spanish side among his many suitors.

However, the Blues are adamant that they want to keep the 26-year-old and have put a £45m price tag on him to ensure that he does not leave the club this summer, reports The People.

Luiz has made 99 appearances for Chelsea since joining the club in January 2011 from Benfica.
