John Terry reiterates desire to sign new contract at Chelsea

Chelsea captain John Terry reiterates a desire to stay at Stamford Bridge, despite not yet being offered a new contract.

John Terry has reiterated that he wants to extend his Chelsea career, but is yet to be offered a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

The club captain, who has made more than 703 appearances for the Blues since making his debut in December 1998, will come to the end of his current deal next month.

There have been reports that a move to the Chinese Super League could be on the cards, but according to Sky Sports News, the defender will not make a decision until the season comes to an end.

Earlier in the campaign, Chelsea publicly stated that they had not ruled out offering a contract extension to Terry, who has hired Stamford Bridge for a party next week, sparking rumours that he is hosting a farewell bash.

However, in an interview with Danish club Brondby's YouTube channel, Terry insisted that he does not want to go anywhere. He said: "I still want to play for a couple more years, hopefully at Chelsea. I'm a Chelsea player and Chelsea's been my club from the age of 14. I love Chelsea."

Terry may have already played his last game for Chelsea as he faces a two-match ban after getting sent off in last weekend's 3-2 defeat to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

The suspension rules him out of Chelsea's final two league games of the season against Liverpool and champions Leicester City.
