Report: Derby County interested in re-signing Jason Shackell

Derby County are reportedly lining up a move for former captain Jason Shackell, who has a year left on his Burnley contract.

Derby County have reportedly confirmed their interest in re-signing former captain Jason Shackell from Burnley.

The centre-back was skipper and started all 46 league games in his only season with the Rams in 2011-12 before being signed by the Clarets.

According to BBC Radio Derby, new Derby head coach Paul Clement is keen on bringing the defender back to the iPro after another consistent campaign in which he played every Premier League match for relegated Burnley.

The 31-year-old has one year remaining on his current Clarets contract.
