Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard both train away from their England teammates at St George's Park this morning.

Midfield duo Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard were both absent from England's first training session at the new St George's Park earlier today.

The pair took part in the warm-up in front of the watching media, before performing fitness routines away from the main group.

Skipper Gerrard will play no part against San Marino because he is suspended, while Lampard is thought to be struggling with a knee problem.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe also did not feature with his teammates and instead worked in the gym.

The only other player to miss out was Ryan Bertrand, who is suffering from a sore throat.
